Fun Butterfly Princess Look

So i had some time today and I was totally bored  so I decided to play around with make up and I came up with this look. My sister named it, hence the 5yr oldish name. It looks like this.......

As you can see its CRAZY, pretty halloweeny! It's not a n everyday look, but incase you want to know how to recrate it here we goo.

  • You need lots of purple eyeshadows from lilac to medium purple, all shimmery. I used UD book of shadows 3, jillian dempsy purple, rimmel purple from rebel chic palette and frontcover eyespy palette.
  • You need a lilac matte shadow, I used Charlie in Lilac
  • You need a lilac cream shadow, I used one I made myself.
  • Black eyeliner pencil, I used Urban Decay 24/7 glide on pencil in zero.
  • A black liquid liner, I used No7 in black
  • An eye primer I used elf eyeprimer.
  • optional - a butterfly sticker.

  1. Prime your eyelid, up to the browbone, under your eye and your cheek until level with your nose.
  2.  Dust on your lid upto your crease only, a colour like this.....
 3. Then take your cream shadow and coat the entire area that you primed.
4. Use your fingers, to pat the matte lilac colour over the cream shadow so it wont slide.
5. Now for the fun, use a range of purples and dot them all over the area, the finished result should look like your skin is glowing purple with all the different shades swirled to together.
6. Line your eyes thickly in the shape shown.....
Thick line on both lashlines, with a down pointing flick in the inner corner, a large flisk in the outer corner and I continued the line with a few dots.

7. Line your waterline and tightline with a black eyeliner pencil.
8. Trace your eyeliner with the black liquid liner, making sure to accentuate the edges.
9. Place your sticker whereevr you like and use the liquid liner to draw some swirly tails
10. We save this step for last so that the coour will be potent and obvious. take a mid purple, shimmery shadow and put it on the eyelid above the liner but under the crease, I used a colour from the urban decay book os shadows volume three called psychedelic sister and it looks like this...
and now were done with my crazy look :))

Thanks for reading

Sparkle this New Year!

Hey guys, I sincerely hope you had a spectacular christmas and I hope new year brings everything your hoping for...  So when I think of new year, I think of green, this year. I don't know why last year it was purple and blue, this year its randomly green. So I had a play around earlier today and here is what I came up with, sorry still no pictures.

  1.  You need to start with a good sticky base, Benefit Lemon Aid  is a good one. So apply this lightly and evenly from lashline to browbone with your finger.
  2. Sweep a lightish green from lashline to crease. Something like this.
This is Barry M dazzle dust in Lime
 3. Blend a darker,  brighter green into the crease of your eye with a tapered crease brush. Create a rounded shape at the edge of your eye. Use a green like this.

This is Barry M dazzle dust in Parrot Green
 4. Pat a shadow close to your skin tone under your browbone and blend into the crease colour.

5. Line your upper lashline with black liquid liner. Tightline and line your waterline with a black eyeliner pencil.

6. Time to add the sparkle, now in theory you could use silver or gold glitter, I used silver though. You need any cosmetic grade glitter in your chosen colour.Dampen your brush a little with water and pick up your glitter, pat it on the centre of your eyelid. Gently coat over the top of the glitter with a fixing gel (mine is brandless) Then gently blend it out, but make sure it is most concentrated in the centre.

7. Line your lower lashline with the fixing gel, and pat the glitter on top.

8. Sweep a genourous amount of black mascara on both sets of your eyelashes.

9. Dust your cheekbones with a neutral blush and an angled blush brush.

10. Slick your lips with a glossy peachy lipgloss and voila!

Have a sensational New year guys :)

Many Faces of the Same Girl.

I realised today its beena couple days since I last posted, but I am actually completely exhausted lately. Christmas time can be so stressful, but I am so excited as my my grandmums coming over from trinidad :D But before I start babbling due to my exhaustion I am completely lacking in inspiriation for a topic. But anyway I decide to do this quick post, that alot of people wont bother with but, hey its my blog :)

Basically all I'm saying is every individual has many faces and many looks. Make up is supposed to express your mood and thats why we all have many faces. And you cant deny it, some days your feminine, some days your rockstarish, some days your in love with love and other days a cute couple could make you barf. Use make up to express how you feel, not to mask it :)

NOTW: ELF Nail Polish in Metal Madness

(For those that are not familiar with blog terms, NOTW means nailpolish of the week :)

Hey, If you read my recent ELF haul post, right at the end was this nail polish. Today is the first time I tried it and I swear I now know what love is. This polish is AMAZING!!!. I ordered mine on line and it come packaged like this....
I have to say I really like the bottle, instead of being round its more of a rectangular shape. I find it easier to hold and all round more comfortable  to work with. The brush is small but not too small. The formulation is amazing, it glides on smoothly and perfectly. Only one coat is required although two deepens the colour. oh and did I mention that this was a £1.50.
You can see the colour the best in the above photo, all photos were taken on my webcam so the colours aren't true to reality, unfortunatley. The colour is really hard to describe but the best I could come up with is this. Its a really dark gray, Graphite gray I would think. So it's a mettalic graphite, with iridescent glitter on top. Its truly beautiful, I normally wear black nail polish and this is a nice change without being to drastic. Ooooh I just larve it :)
Not the best shot :/ the colour in the bottle is pretty much the true colour, the colour on the nail is a bit off.
I tried to get a zoomed picture of a single nail. It didn't work but oh well.

To finish I LAARVE this polish :D

How to Beat the Winter Blues

Winter brings with it many fun and exciting prospects for some, snow, christmas and for most time of school and work. Not to mention all the delicious foods and spices that are usually only available around the christmas season. But winter does not come without its draw backs, frizzy hair, dry elbows, cracked lips. If your anything like me you hate cracked lips and dry elbows, it drives me insane. My hair is naturally frizzy, so that doesnt bother me. Here is my list of winter SOS items..

A good lipbalm is essential all through the year, even more so during winter. Ideally you should use plain vaseline for your lips. but I hate the thick gloopy feeling, the smell and the taste.

About a year ago, I went on a school trip to a little village that I can't even remember the name of. It was snowy and freezing and I didn't bring a lipbalm. My lips cracked so bad that they bled in several spots. The village had two shops literally, neither carried lipbalms. Lipbalm has been my best friend ever since. My two favourites are......

Lip Therapy with Rose and Almond Oil Vaseline Rosy Lips £1.99 for 20g tin This is much lighter, thinner and all round much better that standard vaseline. I use this lipbalm all year round and I love it. Its light and silky, my lips have never been softer. I mean it. It gives you that nice, moisturized lip feeling without being greasy. It smells really nice and it has a slight rosy tint. Its tasteless which I completely love. And it comes in a cute, easy to carry with you little tin.

Nivea Lip Care SOS Lip Balm £3.20-£3.50 for 10ml tube. This is called SOS lip balm as it cant be used everyday. Its too thick and heavy. It has the same cosistency as a body butter/cream. I use it  when my lips are really cracked and dry or at night so I wake up with soft lips. You cannot use this as an everyday lipbalm! But its great when your lips are in bad condition! (Just to be clear)

For cracked/dry elbows, knees and feet you need a nice rich cream and I have two favourites.....

Johnson's Body Care 24hour Moisture Body Cream with Shea Butter 200ml (Sorry I'm unsure of the price, it was under £5 though) I like this cream because its thick and rich without being oily because its a water based cream. Its absorbed into the skin quickly, so you don't have that horrible greasy feeling on your skin. I naturally have very dry elbows, if I forget to cream them just once they will feel like a pumice stone. This cream is actually a life saver. I rub it in once a day and I have nice silky elbows. I would reccomend this all year round but its especially great in winter.

Sorry for the bad picture, it was taken on my webcam.

Body Shop Shea Body Butter £5.00 for 50ml
This is thick and creamy, I don't use it every day as it take its timevto be absorbed. You are left with the greasy skin feeling, but when it is finally absorbed your skin is so intensivley moisturized its unbelievable. I only buy this one at winter as I think its too heavy for the rest of the year.
You need to keep your hands sensuously soft during winter, there is nothing worse that scaly hands :/ I have two products for keeping my digits in perfect condition.....

Nivea SOS Relief Body Lotion with Calendula Oil 200ml (Unsure of price) This light and silky, just rub a drop into your hands and they are left feeling soft not greasy. I don't like the smell at all, it smells kind of chemically. But I guess that doesn't matter unless you plan to be sniffing your hands.
Burts Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme £4 for 17g  This isn't an essential for everyone, it depends on the overall condition of your nails generally. My nails get in pretty poor condition during winter, so its an essential for me. Just massage this into your cuticles then along the length of your nails. To keep your nails at their best during winter apply this cuticle creme, then coat with a clear gloss and don't ever cut your cuticles.

Hair loves to a pain during the winter months, especially mine. I am mixed, so the unusual texture of my hair hates the cold and turns into an instant ball of frizz, that resembles an afro. My favourite product for helping control the frizz is...

Schwarzkopf Gliss Hair Repair Liquid Silk Express Repair Conditioner £1.99 at savers £4.99 else where To cut that stupidly long name short its basically a leave in conditioner. On the bottle it doesn't actually mention anything about frizz control but thats exactly what it does for me. Just roughly towel dry your hair, spray this on damp hair, the leave to dry naturally, when totally dry brush through your hair. This is amazing.
The best advice I can give for your hair during winter is..... Only wash it three/four times a week. That will help reduse the frizz and inbetween washes you can use a dry shampoo like....

Superdrug Dry Shampoo Away with the Fairies £1.99 for 150ml Just spray it into dry hair and it will look freshly washed, smell delicious (like berries) and feel soft and silky.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope I didn't ramble on :)

ELF Haul (Warning its a pretty big one!)

In my moneys opinion, emails are a curse. I got sent one of those spend this much and you get free postage + a free gift emails for ELF cosmetics! Those emails are lethal! My greedy fingers just cannot resist. My bank balance has been reduced again! but all in all I'm actually pretty happy with my purchases.

Before I get into the hauling, I just want to say if you haven't heard of ELF you are missing out! Their standard products are £1.50 and their studio line is £3.50. That is bargain and their products are pretty darn good quality!

Lip Products:
Lipsticks:
  • ELF Lipstick in 7706 Posh - Unopened, as its actually for my mum, but it appears to be a really pretty deep red colour.
  • ELF Lipstick in Gypsy - ALL MINE! Its a gorgeous bright pink colour, really bright.
  • ELF Lipstick in Voodoo - Also mine, Its quite a deep browny, red.
This picture, is horrible the pink is much brighter (Gypsy) and the second much redder (Voodoo), I just couldnt get a better quality pic/
 Lipglosses:
  • Elf Hypershine Gloss in Berry Cherry - I really like this colour and it feels like lipbalm on the lips, the only 'fault' with this gloss is I don't like the smell, it has a very sickly sugary smell.
Im afraid there is no pic for the gloss as I couldn't get my webcam to pick up any colour from the gloss.
Lipbalms:
  • ELF Therapeutic Conditioning Balm in 8001 Strawberry Creme - Also unopened as its for my little sister. But it looks pretty good. The pinky tint is really nice.
Eye Products:

Eyeliners:
  • ELF Shimmer Eyeliner Pencil in Gunmetal - This eyeliner is really great, its small and portable it has a built in shapner in the lid and all though its shimmery it does not feel gritty.
  • ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Midnight Blue and Plum - I am pretty dissapointed with these, they last really long, apply smoothly and everything but the colours are pathetic. The blue looks like a black and the plum looks like a brown, So even though they are amazing eyeliners, they are not quite what I ordered.

Eyeshadows:
  • ELF Brightening Eye Colour Quad in Punk Funk - I only ordered this because I needed one more item to get my total uo to the required amount and it looked like it would be fun to play with! I really like this quad except for the blue colour as it comes out as an ashy gray instead of blue but the rest are lovely :)
  • ELF Smokey Eyes Palette - This was my free gift with the order and its my favourite part of the purchase! Irony huh? The colours are so pigmented and pretty and I LOVE it.

 Face Products:
  • ELF Corrective Concealer Palette - Honestly I am in love with this, I have already ordered a back up. Its a coloured concealer palette, green for hiding redness (I use this so much), Pink for hiding and green tones in the skin, a yellow toned light concealer for blueness under the eyes and a darker yellow toned concealer for the same purpose. These are creamy and smooth and glide on so easily.

  • ELF All Over Color Stick in Golden Peach - This a multi purpose cream stick, I like it as a cheek colour but on me it doesnt work for lips or eyes. But its a really nice cheek highlight because on my skintone its just a peachy golden glow.

  • ELF Makeup Mist and Set - This is a light spray/mist that you just spray on after make up application and its supposed make your make up stay in place for 12 hours and refresh the skin. I haven't tried it yet as I haven't need 12 hours out of my make up yet. But seeing as 'tis the season, that shall change and I will do a full review later on.
And finally a nail polish! Which is ELF Nail Polish in 1570 Metal Madness, OMG I am so suprised at this polish, I thought it would be cheap and watery, but its amazing, it glides on really easily and smooth and you actually only need one coat. Its a really beautiful sparkly dark grey/gunmetal colour.

OMG you have no idea how long this post took, I'm actually exhausted :)
