How to create that oh so sexy smokey eye! (my way)

Now normally I would add pictures showing each step but my camera is ahem lost and my mothers camera is at the repair shop. So i have absolutley no access to a camera. I shall do my best with my words for now and will add pictures when mine is relocated or my mothers is fixed.

For pretty much all the colors you need to create this look in one pallete I would suggest the Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quad in 04 Charcoal Smokes.  (Which is above)

1. Step one with any look is always a primer! There are so many good ones  you can choose from Urban Decay Primer Potion, MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot, ELF Eyelid Primer or my personal favourite Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Just a tip - the Too Faced Shadow Insurance is £11.00 pounds which ain't cheap but if you look for ANY make up product your lemming for on ebay, I guarantee you will find it alot cheaper. I got my last Shadow Insurance for £6.75 on ebay including P&P. SO back to the look. Prime your entire eyelid from lashline to browbone with your chosen primer. Make sure the coat is thin and even.

2. Apply your base colour. Use a small, flat shader brush to pat the bottom left colour all over your eyelid, up to just above the crease. Pat instead of swipe with this colour because you will get the most colour pay off.

3.Using a tapered crease brush, sweep the top left colour into your crease. Sweep it backwards and fowards until its smoked out, leave it slightly darker at the outer corners. (Just note the shadows from the quad had lid, crease etc printed on each colour. I am not using them the way they suggested.)

4. Take the top right colour on a smal pointed pencil brush and start defining the outer V. One you have desired shape. Smudge inwards and blend till you have a smoky effect.

5. Pat any matte white shadow under your browbone (not in this quad). Blend it out and down into the crease colour.

6. Line your upper lashline with any black kohl, Benefit Bad gal in Black, Urban decay 24/7 in Zero. Just any black pencil. Then take a little of the bottom right colour on a small pencil brush and blend over the eyliner. Really smoke it out, so its not a perfectly defined line.

7. Use the same colour with the same brush and line your lower lashline. be sure to blend it out really well.

8. Dot a white eyeliner in the inner corners of your eyes, something like Benefit Eye brightening pencil. Then pat the same matte white shadow you used for brow highlight on top of the white liner. Line your waterline with the black pencil.

9. Curl your eyelashes and apply a couple coats of mascara. and you are done with the eyes :D

10. To finish this look I usually skip blush all together. I just dot some of my concealer on my lips because i have highly pigmented lips and this neutralises the colour. I then apply a little L'oreal Colour Riche Star Secrets in Eva Longoria. Which is a sort of medium nudey pink. I don't know if its still available in shops but its available on ebay.

I hope you enjoyed my smokey eyes tutorial. I know theres probably about a million smokey eye tutorials online but I think theres many different ways to create the look and I just wanted to share my way.
